Easy start in DIY Window Garden

Basil, parsley, bay, oregano, mint, thyme, dill and chives are known to grow the easiest.

You're also going to need twine, rocks, a curtain rod and some terracotta pots.

Better use terracotta pots because the oxygen circulates through the roots best in these containers. Make sure there's a hole on the bottom of your container. So the pots can drain the access water.

  1. Prep your flower pots for earth growing, take the rocks and put a small layer in the terracotta pot. This will help drain the access water from the soil and stop molding from the plant roots.
  2. Next: adding potting soil. Don't just get any old dirt. Potting soil has fertilizer in it which will help promote growth. Repeat this step for all the pots for the basil plant.
  3. When planting these seeds you want to poke a hole with your finger about an inch deep into the soil. Cover the seed hole and repeat these steps for all the pots.

Notice: not putting the whole bag of seeds in the dirt. If you put too many seeds in a small space, the plant will not grow properly.

You should expect to see your herbs growing in six to eight weeks, just in time for the summer.
